  • Panthers Roll Past Corning in Women's Basketball

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team ran out to a big early lead and never looked back Tuesday, cruising to a 58-31 win over Corning Community College in Mid-State Athletic Conference action. The win improves the Panthers to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the MSAC. Corning falls to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the MSAC.

    Five players scoring in double figures, including three who posted double-doubles, propelled the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team to a 65-53 win over SUNY Broome Saturday. The victory in the spring semester opener improves the Panthers record to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome drops to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the MSAC.
  • Home Games with Davis College Cancelled

    With the College closed due to inclement weather, the home basketball games scheduled for Thursday, January 10 vs. Davis College have been cancelled. The games will not be rescheduled, meaning the next game for the Panthers will be Saturday, January 12 at home vs. SUNY Broome.

    The semester finale for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team saw the Panthers fall victim to a long-range shooting assault, losing at Hudson Valley Community College 86-71. The Panthers head into the winter break with a record of 2-6 overall and 2-5 in Region III. Hudson Valley improves to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the region.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team dropped to 0-2 in Mid-State Athletic Conference play with an 81-61 loss to Finger Lakes Community College Wednesday. The road defeat drops the Panthers to 2-5 overall while Finger Lakes improves to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the MSAC.

    A tight game ended with the first road loss of the year for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team Thursday, as the Panthers fell to Fulton-Montgomery Community College 65-55. The Panthers are now 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Region III. Fulton-Montgomery is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Region III.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team opened conference play on a down note Tuesday, dropping a home game against Jefferson Community College. The 73-53 final leave the Panthers with an overall record of 2-3 and a Region III record of 2-2.  Jefferson is now 4-2 overall, 2-1 in Region III, and 1-0 in the MSAC.

    Three players in double figures helped the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team roll to a 54-33 win at Clinton Community Saturday. The 21-point win improves the Panthers to now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in Region III play. Clinton is 1-4 overall and 0-4 in region.
  • Winter Weather Forces Schedule Changes

    With the College closing due to the weather, Friday's scheduled games at North Country Community College have been postponed. The Panthers and Saints will play the makeup games on Wednesday, February 20. Women at 5 p.m. and the men following at 7 p.m. Saturday's games at Clinton Community College are still on, but with new start times. The women will tip at 2 p.m. while the men will follow at 4 p.m.

    A cold night inside the gym cost the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team as the Panthers lost to Herkimer College 70-40 Tuesday. The Panthers are now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Region III play. Herkimer is 2-2 overall and in region.

    A big night from sophomore Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) led the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team to a 72-45 win at Schenectady County Community College Tuesday. The Panthers are now 1-1 overall and 1-0 in Region III play. Schenectady is 0-2 with both losses coming in region.
  • Panthers Open Season Against Tough D-II

    The 2018-19 season opened with a stiff challenge for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team: a home contest against Division II Jamestown Community College. The Panthers had some positive moments, but in the end, the Jayhawks pulled away and handed Tompkins Cortland a 73-49 defeat.
  • Women's Basketball Information Meeting - Monday, August 27

    An information meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the Panthers women's basketball team will be held on Monday, August 27 at noon in the atrium of the Athletics Facility (near the Field House entrance). This meeting is for all returning players as well as any student interested in playing for the Panthers this year.   • Jaida Washington Repeats as All-Region Selection

    The legend of Tompkins Cortland Community College sophomore Jaida Washington (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) continues to grow. After plastering her name throughout the record books during her two seasons on the court, Washington is continuing to pile up postseason honors. Just days after becoming the first player in the history of Panthers women’s basketball to become a two-time all-conference selection, Washington has added two more firsts. Washington was voted to the All-Region III First Team, becoming the first player in program history to be named to the first team. It is also Washington’s second year on any all-region team, making her the first player in program history to be a two-time all-region selection. Voting for all-region honors was done by coaches from the 16 teams in Region III.
  • Washington Becomes First Panther to Repeat as All-MSAC

    Tompkins Cortland Community College sophomore Jaida Washington (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) is the first player in the history of Panthers women’s basketball to become a two-time all-conference selection. Washington was named to the Mid-State Athletic Conference women’s basketball all-conference team for 2017-18, matching her freshman year accomplishment. Voting for the award is done by the coaches from the seven MSAC programs. Ten players were named to the team.
  • Panthers Season Ends in Regional Quaterfinals

    Beating the same team twice in four days is a tough task under any circumstance. When the opponent is one of the top teams in the region, it becomes even more difficult. That was the challenge facing the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team when the Panthers traveled to Syracuse Tuesday to take on the Onondaga Community College Lazers in the quarterfinal round of the NJCAA Region III playoffs, just days after beating the Lazers in the Mid-State Athletic Conference tournament. Tuesday’s result wasn’t as good for the #5-seed Panthers as the #4-seed Lazers took the game by a 77-61 final. The loss ends the season for the Panthers with a record of 16-10.
  • First Trip to MSAC Championship Game Comes Up Just Short

    Playing in the Mid-State Athletic Conference championship game for the first time in program history, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team came painstakingly close to winning the title. The Panthers took top-seed Finger Lakes Community College to the wire before falling 64-61 Saturday. The Panthers finish as MSAC runner-up, the team’s best ever conference finish.
  • Panthers Beat Onondaga to Earn Trip to MSAC Championship Game

    The third time really is the charm, at least for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team. The Panthers took to the floor Friday playing in the Mid-State Athletic Conference semifinals for the third straight year, each time against Onondaga Community College. It was also the third time this season the Panthers have squared off with the Lazers, and in each of the previous meetings, the Panthers came up short. But on this day, Tompkins Cortland finally broke through, putting it all together for one of the biggest wins in the history of the program. Tompkins Cortland beat Onondaga 57-46 to earn a trip to the conference championship game for the first time. The Panthers will now play Finger Lakes Community College Saturday at noon for the MSAC title. The entire MSAC tournament is being hosted by Finger Lakes.
  • Panthers End Regular Season - Prep for Playoffs

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team proved it can play with anyone Tuesday as the Panthers closed out the regular season Tuesday with a tough 64-60 loss to Finger Lakes Community College. The Panthers end the regular season with a mark of 15-8 overall and 7-5 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team honored its sophomores prior to its game with Cayuga Community College Saturday, and then two of those sophomores led the team to a 70-61 victory. The win improves Tompkins Cortland to 14-8 overall and 7-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, and secures the #3 seed for the upcoming MSAC playoffs.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an abrupt end Wednesday. Playing at Onondaga Community College, the Panthers lost 80-45 for their first defeat in more than three weeks. Tompkins Cortland is now 6-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and 13-8 overall.

    Sophomore guard Tatiana Minnick (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) broke her own school record of assists Saturday, helping the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team to an 85-66 win at SUNY Adirondack. The fifth straight win for the Panthers leaves the team with an overall record of 13-7 and a Region III mark of 12-6. Adirondack is now 5-15 overall and 4-15 in region.

    A triple-double from Tatiana Minnick (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) and another record-setting performance from Jaida Washington (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) powered the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team to a convincing win over Corning Community College Thursday. The 74-50 victor improves the Panthers to 6-3 in Mid-State Athletic Conference and 12-7 overall.

    A 19-0 run to open the game set the tone for what turned into a lopsided win for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team Friday night. Hosting SUNY Broome, the Panthers cruised to a 60-21 win to improve to 5-3 in conference and 11-7 overall.

    After leading most of the game, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team needed a strong finish to pull out a crucial 55-49 win over Jefferson Community College Wednesday. The win moves the Panthers into a tie with Jefferson for third place in the Mid-State Athletic Conference with both teams sporting a record of 4-3 in conference and 10-7 overall.

    Leading by six at the end of the third quarter, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women’s basketball team stretched their lead all the way to a 19-point win Wednesday at Cayuga Community College. The 84-65 final score improves the Panthers to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
  • Saturday's Women's Game vs. Finger Lakes Rescheduled

    The Mid-State Athletic Conference women's basketball game between Tompkins Cortland and Finger Lakes scheduled for Saturday, January 27 in Dryden has been rescheduled. The Panthers and Lakers will now face-off on Tuesday, February 20 at 5 p.m.
