The Panthers earned a bit of revenge on Thursday, beating Corning Community College 12-2 in six innings. The win, which came on the heels of dropping two to the Red Barons the last time out, improves TC3 to 2-13 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Corning is now 2-11 overall and 2-7 in the MSAC. The teams only played one game after the start of play was delayed due to a heavy fog on the field.

The Panthers came out strong, scoring four runs on five hits, a walk, and a pair of sacrifice flies in the first inning. Three more runs came in the second, including one on a solo homer by Keelan Marren. A pair of two-out doubles produced three more runs in the third, putting the Panthers in total control at 10-0. The Red Barons scored two in the third, but the Panthers put another two across in the sixth to end the game early by the run rule.
Roman Villanueva pitched the complete game, striking out six while allowing just two runs on three hits. Evan Shank went 3-for-3 with five RBI, while Marren was 3-for-4 with a homer and double.
Looking ahead
The scheduled game against Mohawk Valley Community college on Saturday has been canceled due to field conditions. The next action on the schedule is a doubleheader Tuesday at Onondaga Community College.
