It was another heartbreaker for the Panthers on Saturday. Game One: Finger Lakes 16, Tompkins Cortland 2 (five innings)
The Lakers put across six runs in the first and never looked back in cruising to the run-rule shortened game. The Panthes managed just three hits, with Keelan Marren stroking a triple for the lone extra-bise knock.
Game Two: Finger Lakes 7, Tompkins Cortland 6 (eight innings)
The game was tied at 3-3 after three innings, and TC3 took a 5-3 lead in the sixth. Finger Lakes tied it at 5-5 with a run in the bottom of the sixth, and after a scoreless seventh, the game went to extra innings. TC3 put one across in the top of the eighth but was unable to hold the lead as the Laker scored twice for the walk off win.
Jack Pilgrim was 3-for-3 at the plate while driving in three runs. Dominic Zona and Easton Podbeusek each had two hits.
