The Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team dropped to 0-2 in Mid-State Athletic Conference play with an 81-61 loss to Finger Lakes Community College Wednesday. The road defeat drops the Panthers to 2-5 overall while Finger Lakes improves to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the MSAC.
The Panthers led 16-14 after the first quarter, but the Lakers moved ahead 37-33 at the half. A rough third quarter put the game out of reach, with Finger Lakes outscoring the Panthers 28-12 to take command.
Shantasia Jeffrey (Harlem/Curtis H.S.) filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 blocks, and an assist. Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) and Reyanah Brown (Syracuse/Syracuse Academy of Science) each had nine points.
