The Panthers women's soccer team ran up against another tough opponent on Wednesday, hosting Jefferson Community College. The Cannoneers, who came to town undefeated and among the teams receiving votes in the NJCAA national rankings, proved to be too strong for the Panthers to handle while taking an 8-0 decision. TC3 is now 0-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson moves to 4-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the MSAC.
Jefferson controlled play against a TC3 playing below full strength due to injuries. The Panthers kept the Cannoneers off the board for the first 16 minutes, but the visitors broke through with a goal in the 17th minute. A second goal came 16 minutes later, and two more in the final three minutes of the half made it 4-0 at the break. The second half opened with two more scores in the first ten minutes, with the final scores coming in the 63rd and 73rd minutes of action.
Jushawna Crane (Cincinnatus/Cincinnatus H.S.) was busy in her first start in goal, recording 15 saves.
Looking ahead
