Panthers Can't Hang On vs. Hudson Valley

Dressing just five players due to injuries, the TC3 women's basketball team nearly pulled out a win at home on Saturday. The Panthers led most of the way against Hudson Valley Community College but couldn't hold on in a 58-52 loss. The Panthers are now 1-2 while Hudson Valley is now 3-1.

The Panthers took the lead early, holding a 16-11 advantage after one quarter. Hudson Valley took a point off the lead in the second quarter and came back to take the lead midway through the third quarter. The Panthers responded and led 42-40 heading into the final ten minutes of action. The lead changed hands five times in the fourth quarter, with the Panthers last leading at 50-48 with 2:30 left on the clock. Hudson Valley drained a 3-pointer 15 seconds later and added a bucket a minute later to lead 53-50 entering the last minute of play. Michaela Jean-Philippe hit a floater in the lane to make it 53-52, but the Vikings were able to hold on for the win.

Kyla Mustapha had a huge game with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Jean-Philippe just missed a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Ella McCoy had a team-best 12 rebounds while scoring 7 points.
