When the Panthers hosted Herkimer College on Saturday, one quarter made all the difference as TC3 lost 74-54. The loss leaves TC3 with a record of 2-4 while Herkimer improves to 4-5.
The score was tied at the end of both the first and second quarters as the teams went to the locker rooms knotted at 27-27. The problem for the home team came in the third quarter as Herkimer went on a 20-1 run to the open second half. By the time the third quarter ended, the Generals had more than doubled their point total from the first two quarters and had taken control of the game with a 56-35 lead. The fourth quarter was another evenly played span, with the Panthers outscoring the Generals by one point, 19-18, but it wasn't enough to make up for the disastrous third quarter.
Kyla Mustapha had a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Panthers. Samiyah Williams had 12 points and Melody Fann had 11. Michaela Jean-Philippe added 8 points and 10 rebounds.
